BioDiesel Norge (now BioFuel AS) is working in concert with Aggreko, the world's leading supplier of temporary solutions for electricity and temperature control equipment, to supply electricity to the Oyafestivalen music festival in Oslo.
Aggreko has worked with Oyafestivalen organizers for four years to provide generators for the festival, which is held in Middle Ages Park. This year, Aggreko partnered with BioDiesel Norge to run all its festival generators on environmentally friendly biodiesel.
The four-day festival, established in 1999, has a strong environmental profile, recycles as much as possible and fights for green emissions. Concert organizers recently won the City of Oslo Environmental Prize and the national "Glass Bear" environmental competition in the recycling category.
"The use of biodiesel in electrical generators provides immediate environmental benefits without the need for new technology or other expensive investments," said Steinar Kolnes, managing director of BioDiesel Norge. "We're excited to be working with Aggreko on this project and foresee a long and mutually beneficial relationship to deliver similar services to other festivals and events."
